Not
since the last volume of Aircraft Engines in Museums Around the World was
published by the Smithsonian Institution in 1982 has there been a current,
readily accessible index of engines in museums and collections. The AEHS intends
to collect and publish such an index. This index will be on-line and available
to all. Ultimately, after we have arrived at a consistent format, the index will
be searchable. Until then, we will publish the raw data.
If you are affiliated with an aircraft engine collection, we encourage you to send us a list of engines. The engines do not necessarily have to be display engines - we are interested in the ones in storage, in restoration and on loan as well.
