Displayed in the markings of the aircraft flown by Lieutenant Commander (later U.S. Senator) John S. McCain, III, when he was shot down over North Vietnam in October 1967. At that time he was a member of Attack Squadron (VA) 163 on board the aircraft carrier Oriskany (CVA 34).
