The Kasei 22 was one of the most important 14-cylinder engines that powered Japanese Navy aircraft, including the Kawanishi H8K Models 12, 22 and 32). It displaced 2,570 in³ (42l), produced 1,825 hp at 2,600 rpm and weighed 1,650 lb (748 kg).
