Producing 2,200 hp this 18-cylinder air-cooled radial incorporated fuel injection, fan cooling and turbosupercharging. Although it powered several prototypes, including the Mitsubishi Ki-83, Tachikawa Ki-70, Tachikawa K-74 and Mitsubishi A7M3-J, the engine was not fully developed and was unreliable.
