Ford manufactured fuel-injected Pratt & Whitney R-4360-C6 and -CB4 engines under license from 1951 until 1954 in the Dodge Chicago plant that had been used for Curtiss-Wright R-3350 manufacture during WWII. R-4360-53 models are illustrated here and were used in the Convair B-36 bombers; R-4360-59 models were used in Boeing KC-97D, and R-4360-59A models in KC-97F and G tankers; R-4360-63 and -63A models were used in Douglas C-124 transport aircraft. |
