When I use the search page that's described as "USAF Engineering Division Finding Aid for Records at the US National Archives II Search Across ALL Correspondence and Organizations ( 102161 Citations )" and get results, I then go to the National Archives to find and order the reports but none of the search hits are ever found there. Never once. The hits look reasonable and authentic, and I'd really like to get copies of them, but if the National Archives says they don't have them, then what do I do next? None of the documents in this finding aid are available on-line from NARA; you have to visit the Archives II in College Park, Maryland, go to the second-floor reading room, order the documents by RD number from Record Group 342, and scan/photograph them yourself. There are personnel on staff there that can help you translate the RD number into a form that will actually yield documents. Citations with a Doc # in the first column are part of a microfilm collection that is part of Record Group 342 (not part of the fourth-floor microfilm collection). The Doc #s beginning with F, P and R have been digitized by the AEHS, which means it is much easier to request copies of these documents from the AEHS.
