The latest RRHT newsletter has an article about the R-R Eagle engine. The author mentions that so much material has been made available that a book is to be published, on the subject. So, one to keep an eye out for in the future.

The old Eagle, that is, not the later one!

I have just been reading that newsletter too - belonging to the RRHT is highly recommended, I think £6 per year, great bulletins and newsletters (mostly aero engines) and a very good discount off all their books. I have them all, just ordered the latest written by the "car testers".
Long may they continue!

I should have pointed out this is a German language book giving details on all major piston aero engines, not just German ones.

I was waiting for confirmation it was being published before posting about it, but thanks, anyway.

My copy of the Bentley book was waiting for me when I got back from holiday on Sunday night. The CD-ROM is in an envelope with the book, not fixed in the book.

With regard to Mr. Fey's review of The Electra Story; the Open University (British distance learning system set up by the Labour Government in the Sixties) has an engineering module on the whirling mode failure of the engines, which is fascinating.
